Retail Arghhh!!!

I am all for retail therapy. In fact I miss it a bit since we are now living on one income.
what I have never been able to stomach however is the commercialism of holidays. Christmas (or Xmas if you like) is coming on us soon. I know this because for the past 4 weeks I have seen the signs of it in the shops. Little by little decorations make their way to the front displays of retailers. Xmas food, Xmas decorations, suggestions for Xmas presents.

I have 2 family members birthdays to think of before I even bother my brain with Xmas - one of those being The Husband's!
He has often commented that shops should not think about Xmas until after his birthday (which is at the end of November). I tend to agree.

I can't believe the people who say at the beginning of December "I have already done all my Xmas shopping". I'm a last minute girl.

So in the spirit of that, I give you some last minute Xmas gift ideas courtesy of "The Simpsons".

It's no fun if it's not at the last minute!

I like the look of the sock full-o-rice for my brother... will make a nice change from a piece of charcoal...

I have resorted to the clever poem on a number of occassions. Or a clever short story. It works a treat !

Maybe I'll go with print outs of my deviant art stuff... :P

The printouts are a good idea! Have them laminated or framed... at least you can be sure it's unique, plus it shows you've actually put time and consideration into it, (which anyone who actually deserves a gift in the first place is bound to appreciate!)

I'd want to get it printed on photo paper. Some of my pics are actual official prints so I could buy them from dA at cost, I suppose... :P

Cass, I reckon it would be cheaper for you to dump them to a disc and take it to Harvey Norman or [insert-other-photo-retailer-here] - but that's just my thought.

Looks like I'm getting an empty recyclable bottle for my birthday. Durn.

Oh, and my verification word was "LQRQK", which sort of has a Christmas Carol cadence to it...

"Jingle Bells!
Jingle Bells!
Ell Cue Are Cue Kay!"

...we are getting to the 'silly season', after all :)

Oh wait, I have to pay for those. Darn. If you get some done I will give you $10 for each of the above. How's that?
